Swift One // Verdant - Gardens Of Narrative

"Swift One" // NOUN. British, informal. An alcoholic drink (often, but not necessarily, a half-pint of beer) consumed quickly, usually of mythical singularity.

We somehow showed enough restraint to save this for a rainy day, and boy did it pay off... Firstly, we simply have to mention that the Trillium-esque artwork is an illustrative master stroke from Verdant.

(The image provided is actually from 'The Natural History of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands' - for the more curious amongst you this book from the 18th century contains figures and descriptions of the flora & fauna, and biodiversity from the area)

But more importantly, to the beer. It’s a piney, stone fruit-filled Saison-IPA hybrid banger! (And as big a mouthful as that sentence). Murky and with a suitably nature-inspired, farmhouse-y peach aroma it smells utterly fantastic with bags of those Ekuanot & Mosaic hops (or Ekuanto if you read that beautiful packaging carefully - whoops!).

Matched by a slightly peppery, yeasty dryness, it still has those familiar notes of ripe citrus fruit and pineapple for the style, though it’s an altogether different - arguably more complex beast. And, with this utterly radiant, soft carbonation we just wouldn’t have it any other way...
